As we celebrated Earth Day this week, we were reminded of the many otherworldly places to visit in Jordan - right here on Earth.

From camping among Jordan’s Mars-like landscapes in the Wadi Rum desert to floating in the salt-filled Dead Sea instead of zero gravity, Jordan is certainly the ultimate destination to visit for unique experiences.

We have rounded up some of our favorite dreamy Jordanian destinations that show us how vast and varied our planet is, and remind us that we don’t have to leave our planet to experience surreal moments.

Wadi Rum

Often called the Valley of the Moon, Wadi Rum is a stunning landscape that has been featured as Mars in an array of movies such as, The Martian, Dune, and Star Wars. Its towering rock formations, dramatic red sand dunes, and ancient petroglyphs have capitated visitors from across the globe, offering them an opportunity to camp overnight under its stunning star-blanketed sky. Wadi Rum is truly like nowhere else on Earth.

The Dead Sea

The lowest point on Earth and the only place where you can completely float on water, the Dead Sea is certainly one of the most otherworldly bodies of water.

Dana Biosphere Reserve

A mountainous valley that is home to unique sandstone formations, dramatic rocky mountains, and towering canyons coupled with an extremely tranquil environment and immense stargazing opportunities, the Dana Biosphere Reserve makes you feel like you are on another planet.
