Creators Weekend is an interactive and creative conference created to enhance attendees’ skills in content creation, photography, creative writing, filming, editing, and content production that is desirable to travel destinations.

Throughout the program in Jordan, Visit Jordan hosted 10 Black content creators who not only participated in workshops with industry experts Rick Southers and Tomiko Harvey, but also explored the kingdom’s breathtaking natural wonders, rich culture, and delicious Arabic food.

During the creators’ first day in Jordan, they participated in the Underground Amman Tour that showcases Jordanian street art and supports local graffiti artists, break-dancers, and beatbox artists. They also tasted Jordanian olive oils and wines, took part in a calligraphy workshop, and visited the archaeological site of the Amman Citadel.

Throughout their trip, the creators traveled north of Jordan to explore the historic city of Jerash that features incredible Roman ruins, and to the kingdom’s southern region to camp in the stunning Wadi Rum desert, visit the stone-carved Nabataean city of Petra, and enjoy the blue coral-filled water of the Red Sea.

"Walking through Petra feels like stepping back in time, into a world where history, art, and legend merge in every carved stone and towering cliff", said Los Angeles-based travel creator and producer, Ohemaa Akosua.

The creators concluded their trip with an incredible experience at the lowest point on Earth, the Dead Sea, where they enjoyed floating in the salty body of water and applying the famous Dead Sea mud, renowned for its dermatological benefits, on their bodies.

During the memorable trip around Jordan, the creators also visited the city of Madaba, famous for its amazing Byzantine mosaics and Mount Nebo, the sacred site believed to be where prophet Moses died and was buried.

"From Amman to Jerash, Aqaba, Wadi Rum, Petra, and the Dead Sea, each place truly felt like I was stepping into the pages of history—a sight to behold! Most importantly, as a Black woman exploring the Middle East for the second time, I was blown away by the warm welcomes and deep connections I felt. Especially with our tour guide, Mahdi! Absolutely miss him", said solo traveler and writer, Kris, about her experience in Jordan.

"Jordan is incredibly welcoming to Black travelers and the perfect place for our melanin to shine while we wander around in the desert sun," added content creator Sam
