Celebrating Jordanian Artists

Jordan is home to an incredible community of artists and creatives dedicated to combing culture and creativity to create immensely unique productions.

In honor of International Artist Day that falls on October 25th, here is a roundup of some of Jordan's top artists, ranging from the field of music to sculpture.

International Artist Day celebrates all forms of art, including painting, photography, sculpture, and music. By doing so, this day aims to "show respect for the passion and creativity in all artists."

 

Mona Saudi

Mona is a Jordanian sculptor. She studied art in Paris and during her time at university, she developed a passion for stone as a medium. Today, she mainly sculpts in stone and uses stones from around the world to create her sculptures.

Riham Ghassib

Riham is a painter who loves creating colorful paintings that are inspired by nature. She is particularly known for her portrayal of Jordan’s lush countryside.

Ali AlMasri

Ali is a designer and multidisciplinary artist, based in Amman, who experiments with multiple media, especially relating to Arabic culture. He enjoys designing objects by utilizing the Arabic letter as a form of identity in products such as furniture, ceramics, fabrics, and tiles.

Abeer Seikaly

Abeer is an interdisciplinary artist who works across architecture, design, fine art, and cultural production. Her art focuses on expressing cultural empowerment and how we engage with space. In 2015 she co-founded and co-directed Amman Design Week and in 2018 established ālmamar, a cultural experience and residency program based in Amman.

Issam AlNajjar

Only 21 years old, Issam the first musician to sign with Universal Arabic Music, a division of Universal Music Group (UMG). He rose to fame after posting videos of himself singing on social media and he is most notable for his debut single “Hadel Ahbek,” which went viral on Tik Tok.
