Jordan’s Wadi Bin Hammad water canyon is a must-visit natural oasis that is filled with wonderful outdoor experiences for the entire family.

Located near the southern city of Kerak, Wadi Bin Hammad is a water valley that is home to breathtaking views, sandstone cliffs, waterfalls, and lush greenery. Many visitors enjoy strolling through the valley and swimming in its warm hot springs or hiking many of its amazingly colored cliffs and towering rock formations. Others plan picnics and enjoy exploring the beautiful vegetation and palm trees that fill the area.

Members of the U.S. Embassy in Jordan recently visited Wadi Bin Hammad and had an incredible experience. On the US Embassy Jordan Instagram account, they shared that it was “an inspirational hike with Jarah Alhawamdeh, Jordan’s mountaineer!”

Members of the team also added the following: “In collaboration with our program alumni Fouad Kalbouneh founder of @treksjo, we traversed this beautiful wadi celebrating Jordan’s environment, showing that together with perseverance, friendship, and teamwork anything is possible. We are proud to partner with so many change-makers here in Jordan who are paving the way for inclusive economic growth making the country accessible to all."

Since a trip to Wadi Bin Hammad commonly includes walking, hiking, and swimming, the best time to visit the gorge would be during the fall or spring months when the weather is warm, yet not too hot for outdoor activities. There is also minimal rainfall during these two seasons which ensures that the water levels in the canyon remain safe.

Below is a video that showcases the beauty of Wadi Bin Hammad and all that it has to offer.
