Each summer, people across the globe celebrate World Bicycle Day and with warm weather upon us, we wanted to share some of Jordan’s incredible biking trails - one of the best ways to explore the kingdom’s beauty.

Many of Jordan's trails cross through the country's red-colored mountains, lush greenery, and ancient world heritage sites, such as the stone-carved Nabatean city of Petra and the Greco-Roman ruins of Umm Qais. On these trails, bikers can pass through local communities, meet with locals, and visit social enterprises on the way.

Some of the most favored cycling routes include a ride from Madaba, the city famous for its historic mosaics, to the Dead Sea, which is the lowest point on earth, and from the stunning Wadi Rum desert to Jordan’s coastal city of Aqaba.

By hopping on a bike, visitors get to not only enjoy the views of Jordan but also do so in a sustainable manner. One of the best ways to do so is by pre-planning a cycling excursion with a local tour operator that can arrange the entire experience based on one’s needs, preferences, and levels.

Additionally, Jordan is home to the renowned Jordan Bike Trail, which is a 454 mi mixed-surface bike route that crosses the entire length of Jordan and requires 15 days to complete. It starts in the north of Jordan at Umm Qais and ends in Aqaba in the south - a must-do experience for cycling enthusiasts.
