New Star Wars: Episode IX Set Leaks Tease A Big Battle On A Snowy Planet

While Lucasfilm continues to hold back on the official Star Wars: Episode IX material, some new photos reportedly taken from the Black Park region adjacent to Pinewood reveal what’s alleged to be the setting for a snow-based conflict in the upcoming trilogy-closer.

The various pics come courtesy of fan Luke Griffin, who witnessed what he describes as “Fake snow & part burned trees on the set of the new Star Wars film,” before suggesting that the site is “The aftermath of ground warfare between the 1st order and the resistance.” Though these claims have yet to be confirmed, the photos suggest a landscape reminiscent of the Starkiller Base from The Force Awakens, while also revealing a a few buildings under construction.

If this is all legit, then we now have one more planet to add to the list of locations that Abrams’ film is visiting. So far, we’ve already seen the likes of Finn, Poe, and Chewbacca riding through a rural area, while it also looks like John Boyega’s character will be journeying to a desert region filmed in Wadi Rum, Jordan.

In any case, with a teaser unlikely to drop during this Sunday’s Super Bowl, it could be a while before we get any official footage from the feature, but unless Disney’s schedule for marketing Episode IX is notably different from the way they handled The Last Jedi, then we may not have too long to wait for a title reveal.

Either way, it’s looking likely that the first full trailer will be with us at least as soon as the Star Wars Celebration in April, but regardless of Lucasfilm’s promotional plans for Star Wars: Episode IX, you can bet they’ll be saving their biggest reveals for when the film hits theaters on December 20th, 2019.
